Indigo Prophecy

Hey guys I haven't talked to yall in a while.

I got a chance to finish Indigo Prophecy last night and might I just say that I was disappointed by the ending of this "interactive film". With the story full of plot holes, I thought the pacing was weird and slow at times and some of the mini-game actions that the player has to accomplish took way to many tries. This game however is still kinda cool to play after it has been out for a few years and is worth at least one play through if you're looking for a murder mystery thriller. I will give it solid C!

Thank you and goodnight.

Oh! and whats the deal with the love/sex scene?! totally unnecessary and out of the blue! Some of the characters motivations needed to be fleshed out and some of the important story points were confusing and needed further explanation.

Star Wars Clone Wars

Hey! I went and saw Star Wars Clone Wars animated movie a week or so ago and man it was terrible! Total disappointment and waste of everyone's time and money. I usually think everything Star Wars is cool, but geez! Not this!

Sorry to everyone who liked it but your wrong (it's poopy).

Astonishing X-Men: The Joss Whedon Run

The BEST X-book I have ever read by far. Simply remarkable. Outrageously fantastic. In other words....

Astonishing.

SCUBA FO' YOU!

Pineapple Express

I didn't laugh too much (I did, just not as much as I thought I was gonna). This seems to be just like the last comedies I have seen where I watch it the first time and don't seem to laugh much. Then the more and more I watch them, I do. Same story with Superbad and Borat. This particular film however has much more action and a lot of the funny parts were shown in the trailer and it was a remarkable trailer that did its job in making me want to see this film. In hindsight, I think maybe going to rent later when it came out on DVD would probably have been a better choice. The action was crazy and intense throughout and it also another strong point for the film.

Beyond Good & Evil

I played this a while back on the Xbox but never seemed to be able to finish the last boss fight. So I picked it up on the PS2 and finally finished it this month. I felt that it ended at the perfect moment, clocking in at about 10 hours of gameplay. The cutscenes were pretty cool and Disney-esque and the whole experience was certainly above average. I though collecting everything in the game kind of wasted my time and made me feel like the game was tricking me into doing all of the side quest stuff but the dungeons and actual storyline missions were the best part of this adventure (very reminiscent of Zelda!). I thought the side characters were cool such as Uncle Payj and Double H (everyone else was vauge and forgettable). I thought after the final boss there needed to be more closure afterwards but that was all taken away when I watched what happened after the credits! Yeow! Now I hear Ubisoft is making a sequel and I am greatly interested. I am glad I spent the time and money with this game and, though imperfect, I would definitely seek out the sequel for more fun.

On a grading scale I would rate it a solid B.

The Dark Knight

I really dont feel I have to tell you to go see this cause I know you either did or are going to. I also know i dont have to tell you that is one of the finest films ever made in the history of cinema. I just wont waste your time. Time that could be spent getting back in line and seeing it again.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army

Hellboy 2: The Golden Army was the finest summer film of 2008 right after WALL-E. I really enjoyed it much more than the first one (bought the three disc DVDs too). Either way, it was a beautiful looking film and did everything right you are supposed to do in an action monster movie. Ron Perlman puts on another great Hellboy performance even though just about everything he says is throwaway. But such is the style of Mike Mignola's comic. Beat stuff up and say a cool line.

Oh, and Abe Sapien is my favorite character now in the Hellboy universe.

WALL-E

Hey! I came back from the Chicago Comic-con this monday and have been tired ever since! If you wish to check out the photos, look em up at my facespace page!

it is here: http://www.myspace.com/thu6nderchi7cken

Also today my famly, Lia and I went to see WALL-E. If I could go back in time and re-watch it for the first time I so would! Everything was so right about that movie and more. Definitely one of my top 10 favorite films of ALL TIME. Heck, even my top 5!

Taker easy and within the week i should have on some of the sketches i did at the con!

Hey! My good pal Zack Kruse finally got his first comic published which means that those back up pages I was working on are finally published as well! Congrats to him and Zeu for a job well done on a beautiful first issue! We are such dorks about this that we had to get a photo op of us standing with our copies on the shelf. I was hungry and tried to eat mine but it tasted nasty but I still thought that the Contingent and Scuba Frog are still cool.

If you would like a copy for youself to own, come on in to Discount Comic Book Service and pick up your copy! Its only $3.50 (plus its discounted so it will be a little less!!!) Or if you are going to Wizard World Chicago (aka: Chicago-Con) come see us both at the Mindstorm Comics booth #4408 B. If you're lucky and I'm there, you could get a free sketch of Scuba Frog or something. Or we will sign your book! Or your breast! Or your baby! Who knows?!?! It happens...

Anyway, if you happen to see Zack or Cameron Merkler at all, tell 'em "Congratulations! and Make Mine Mindstorm!"

mmm....Saving the Galaxy....

Just finished a fine RPG known as Mass Effect. It is super neat and i really enjoyed playing it. For those of you who know what im talking about, I finished with the good ending. It was fantastic, yet kinda shorter than what I thought it would turn out to be (I clocked in at a little over 12 hours). I would say that it isnt the best game of 2007 that i played, because those places are reserved for The Orange Box and Bioshock. I would put Mass Effects' greatness right on par with Call of Duty 4 and say it is satisfying. Good fun!

Now im off to finish Nico's adventures in Liberty City...

Introducing Scuba Frog: Agent of T.O.A.D.

Also on Thursday, I received an advanced copy of The Contingent #1, the superhero comic my great friend Zack Kruse is putting out through my boss' (Cameron Merkler) comic publisher Mindstorm Comics! Zack was nice enough to give me some space in the back to draw a Scuba Frog: Agent of T.O.A.D. back-up comic. It's only three pages, but hey! it's still baby's first published work!! SHEEYA!

Special Thanks to Zack Kruse for giving me this opportunity as well as for the hard work of colorist Javi Laparra and lettering was by Chris Studabaker!

June 15, 2008

I saw The Incredible Hulk at midnight Friday morning and it was mmmm yeh it was cool. Not as cool as Iron Man but still a great actiony summer blockbustin fun movie. I also definitely think it is better than the last Hulk film that was like four years ago. Give this film a try if you like action and lame stabs at humor! Ed Norton's the best part of this film right along there with Tim Roth!

Have a Hulktastic day!

Indy 4

It was cool to see Ford on the screen as Indy again, especially since I'm such a huge fan of Raiders.

It started out pretty solid, then a little over half way through it got too weird for me. I guess if you're a huge fan of the first three go see it, but if not just skip it.

By the way, i should prolly put up a sketch here soon, since it IS a sketch blog and all....
